Description
Made in 1935, LMS FREIGHT was part of the London Midland & Scottish Railway’s programme of educational entertainment for staff, customers and the general public. First is Camden Depot, with the spotlight on ‘smalls’ or less-than-wagonload traffic. Next we see the fish traffic at the LMS port of Fleetwood in Lancashire. Coal, traditional staple of railway freight, is seen at Totton, the LMS’s showpiece marshalling yard in Nottinghamshire. Lastly comes a visit to suburbia to witness a typical middle class household removal of the times.
