North America

We have always found Boston to be a great place to fly into for a transatlantic visit. The airport is far less busy than New York. In addition Boston is a really interesting city with plenty of good quality hotels to choose from. At the time we booked the Loews Hotel (situated in the old police station) offered some of the best value rooms!

When touring around the USA it makes a really pleasant change to sometimes break away from the larger chain hotels. We stayed for three nights at this rural gem in Pine Meadows near to New Hartford.

Another great stay with a real rural feel this time at Chatham on Cape Cod. not so much a B&B as more like a very exclusive small hotel.

Of course for many visitors nothing beats the excitement of New York.
Rather than stay in the very busy down town area of New York we decided on the Lucerne Hotel just a short walk from Central Park. There are plenty of great places close by to eat at, and transport to town by the subway is cheap and easy. The rooms were quiet and good value on a pre-paid offer.

Perhaps the ultimate way to arrive or leave New York is by the only regular transatlantic service to and from the UK.
There are a wide range of rooms to choose from, to suite all budgets and as you would expect from Cunard the standard throughout the ship is really superb. One of the best benefits of travelling one way by ship and flying the other is the price. When you book the inclusive package from Cunard the flights prices are exceptionally reasonable.
