About this title

This three disc set chronicles the New Zealand steam scene between October 2008 and February 2009. Heritage railways are visited and there is an extensive feature on The Kingston Flier with a visit from K92, one of the locomotives that ran the original trains. A second feature is the gala weekend at The Glenbrook Vintage Railway with visiting engines. Other excursions on the mainline feature J1211 and Jal275 on part of the 3-week tour organised by The Mainline SteamTrust; and single trips with Wab795, Ka942 and Jal271. Each disc is over one hour long andthe programme is arranged in chronological order.

This is a companion set to two other films: New Zealand Railways, Line by Line, a 4 disc set covering the entire country; and OneSummer, a 2 disc magazine style film which includes heritage railways. Some of the material in this set can be glimpsed within the other films.
