TELERAIL IN THE CAB
Volume 7
The Cumbrian Coast Carnforth to Carlisle
Somewhat overshadowed by the more direct WCML route from Lancaster to Carlisle the scenic coastal line via Barrow and Whitehaven is a real treat.
After crossing the head of Morecambe bay on Arnside viaduct the line clings mostly to the Cumbrian coast through many areas of outstanding natural beauty.
Leaving Barrow trains continue north along the coast before eventually passing through Whitehaven and Workington before turning inland to Carlisle.
Filmed in real time without commentary but with the benefit of key location captions.
