The Gavin Morrison Collection
Volume 4

1967-1968

Gavin Morrison needs no introduction to most railfans – his evocative photographs of British steam during the glory days are justifiably well known and loved throughout the world. However, few people realise that Gavin Morrison is also a talented film cameraman, and while out photographing steam he often turned his attention to producing a superb high quality film record as well. The Gavin Morrison Collection

Much of the footage in this series has never been viewed publicly before – and certainly not in this unique form.  The Gavin Morrison Collection is a highly original chronological series, spanning the years from 1962 to the early years of preservation after the end of mainline steam in 1968.  These superb programmes give a fresh and stunning new insight into the glorious years of steam, and will quickly grow to become one of the most important archive series ever produced.

This time there’s a real feast of British working steam from 1967 - 1968 including:-

Shap Steam – at the end of 1967.

Final days of steam in the West Riding – Whitehill Curve, St. Dunstans, Greatland, Bradford Valley Goods, Bradford Foster Square, plus last weekend of Steam in NE Region.

The Isle of Man – re-opening day May 1967.

Specials – May 1967 45562 on the Royal train, first trip in preservation of 60019.

Leeds–Settle–Carlisle Leeds, Bell Busk, Helwith Bridge, Selside, Ribblehead, Birkett, plus last BR Steam Freight over the S & C.

The End of BR Steam - Colne van trains with 45110 and 45407. End of Steam Specials.
